Grading Standard
Taiwan Used Motorcycle Grading Standard: A/B/C Explained
You can't inspect a container in person before it ships. Here's the grading system Luckwell uses so you know exactly what condition you're buying, before you commit.
Why grading matters for wholesale buyers
When you're ordering 50+ units sight-unseen from another country, "used" isn't specific enough to price or resell against. Every motorcycle and car Luckwell exports is assigned a condition grade — A, B, or C — based on a pre-shipment inspection, so you know what you're paying for before the container leaves Kaohsiung.
Who inspects, and when
Grading is done by Luckwell's own team in Kaohsiung, not self-reported by the previous owner. Inspection happens before a unit is confirmed for your order — so the grade you're quoted is the grade you're shipped, not an estimate made at the point of original purchase years earlier.
- Engine check — starts, idles, and runs without abnormal noise or excessive smoke.
- Body and cosmetic review — paint condition, rust, dents, and how much of the original bodywork remains.
- Functional parts — lights, brakes, and controls are tested for basic function.
- Grade assigned — the unit is logged as A, B, or C and photographed for the buyer's record.
How grading affects pricing and your order mix
Grade is priced into every unit — Grade A costs more per unit than Grade C, reflecting the cosmetic condition and resale value it supports in your market. Most wholesale buyers don't order a single grade across the whole container; instead they mix grades to match different price points among their own customers, the same way they mix models to reach the container MOQ (see the Wholesale MOQ Guide).
The same A/B/C standard applies to both motorcycles and cars, so if you're ordering a mixed shipment, you're comparing condition on one consistent scale across categories — not two different systems.
Confirming the grade before you pay the balance
| Allocation | Units matching your requested grade mix are pulled from inventory |
| Photos & notes | Sent per unit before balance payment, showing grade and any notable wear |
| Buyer review | You confirm the units match the agreed grade before loading |
| Loading | Container packed once grade and quantity are confirmed on both sides |
Frequently asked questions
What does Grade A, B, and C mean for a used motorcycle?
Grade A means excellent engine condition with minor cosmetic wear and 90%+ original body condition. Grade B means good running condition with moderate cosmetic wear like scratches or faded paint. Grade C means functional condition with visible cosmetic wear or minor body damage, priced accordingly.
Who grades the vehicles, and when?
Every unit is pre-shipment inspected by Luckwell's own team in Kaohsiung before it's confirmed for a container, not self-reported by the original owner or a third party the buyer can't verify.
Does grading apply to both motorcycles and cars?
Yes. The same A/B/C grading system is used for both used motorcycles and used cars, so buyers ordering a mixed container can compare condition across categories using one consistent standard.
Can I see photos or an inspection report before ordering?
Yes. Photos and grade notes are provided for the units allocated to an order before the balance payment is due, so buyers can confirm condition matches the agreed grade before the container is loaded.
